Summary:1282678 Moulding valves R & G SLOANE MFG CO Inc 11 Aug 1970 [11 Sept 1969] 38549/70 Heading B5A [Also in Division F2] A method of moulding a valve comprises placing a valve member 14 with a through passage 20 and a surface flat or recess 30 in a mould 12, sliding core members 34 and 36 into the passage 20 of the valve member, and introducing plastics material into the mould to form a body 10 with an internal projection corresponding to the flat or recess 30. In the closed position of the so-formed valve, the flat or recess is angularly spaced from the corresponding projection which thereby pushes the valve member tightly against the internal surface of the body 10 to provide sealing. Valves with bodies formed with annular projections (Figs. 3-6, not shown) are moulded in the same manner. The valve member 14 may be spherical, cylindrical or in the form of a tapered plug and is formed from plastics, metal or ceramic material. The body 10 is moulded from P.V.C., ABS, polyethylene or polypropylene.
