The present disclosure relates to the technical field of microorganisms, and in particular to a Bifidobacterium bifidum (B. bifidum) strain BB-ZO and, use thereof in the preparation. of a product for improving skin quality and reducing pigmentation spots. The B. .bifidum strain. BB-ZO was deposited, in the China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center (CGMCC) on March ll, 2021, with a deposit number of CGMCC 21893. The strain of the present disclosure has prominent permeability for gastric acid barrier, high affinity to intestinal epidermal cells, and excellent colonization effect, and thus is especially suitable for oral administration. Moreover, by activating antioxidant pathway and other pathways, the strain can increase the expression of superoxide dismutase (SOD)-related genes in the body, increase the antioxidant level of the body, and remove pigmentation spots and improve skin quality.
