Summary:A vermicomposting device comprising a housing with inlet, outlet and inner volume, the inner volume of the housing in use being filled with: o compostable biomass; o a worm mass; and 0 vermicompost; the compostable biomass arranged near the inlet, the vermicompost arranged near the outlet, and the worm mass arranged in between the compostable biomass and the vermicompost, the worm mass infiltrating into at least a portion of the compostable biomass, and feeding upon said compostable biomass to produce vermicompost; the vermicomposting device further comprising a feed screw, arranged in the inner volume of the housing and rotatable with respect to said housing, the feed screw for transporting the compostable biomass from the inlet to the outlet upon rotation thereof, and the feed screw defining a helical transportation path between blades of the screw, the helical transportation path forming a habitat of the worm mass.
