Summary:The invention is directed to a method for irrigation of a cultivation of plants by providing water to a channel positioned above the cultivation and transporting water from the channel to the cultivation by means of a wick. The water is first transported from the channel by capillary forces in a upward direction via the wick and subsequently transported in a downward direction via the wick towards the cultivation of plants. The water transfers from the wick to the vertical cultivation to achieve irrigation.
