Summary:The rear wall (3) of the cultivation tank (1) contains an ebb exit leading to an ebb exit pipe and this exit is located at a smaller perpendicular distance from the tank base than the flow exit (9). The ebb exit can be alternately opened and closed using a closure device. The tanks are shallow ones with an elongated shape and a water inlet (5) is provided next to the front wall (2) of the tank, which like the rear wall is relative short compared to the tank side walls. The flow exit is located next to the rear wall and leads to a flow exit pipe (33). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Apparatus for regulating the level of a liquid, comprising a first tube with a second tube movably mounted inside it, a outlet opening for liquid in the bottom side of the first tube, an ebb inlet opening for liquid to enter the first tube and a second inlet opening for liquid to enter the second tube from the first tube which can be closed by moving the second tube relative to the first tube; and (B) Rolled-up sheet of material with a thickness of 2-3 mm and having two length edges which curve inwards when the sheet is unrolled.
