Summary:The device has a detector (1) e.g. charge-coupled device camera, sensitive to a laser radiation, disposed in an image field of an imaging optical apparatus (2), and an electronic signal processing unit connected to the detector. A cross network (3) is disposed between a laser radiation source and the apparatus, such that the diffraction orders of the network are reproduced on the detector. A spectral filter (4) is placed upstream of the detector. An independent claim is also included for a method of detecting and localizing laser radiation source using a laser radiation source detection and localization device.
