Heading A5B An animal foodstuff composition comprises a quinoxaline derivative of formula: wherein, when R1 and R2 are H, R3 is H, halogen or methyl and R4 is H or methyl; or when R1 and R2 are methyl, R3 is bromine and R4 is H, together with a substantially solid edible carrier. Compounds having the above general formula wherein R3 is halogen instead of bromine are used in a method of promoting the growth of domestic animals. The animal foodstuffs may contain anthelmintics such as tetramisole, pyrantel tartrate, thiobendazole or piperazine; coccidiostats such as methyl benzoquate, meticlorpindol, 3, 5-dinitro-o-toluamide, 3, 5-dinitrobenzamide, amprolium or decoquinate or antibiotics such as bacitracin, oleandomycin or virginiamycin.
