Summary:Adapters (400,500) for refilling an aerosol delivery device (404,504) are provided. The adapters (400, 500) comprise a body (406, 506) having a container-side end (408, 508) and an opposing, device-side end (410, 510) that are sealably connectable with respectively a container (402, 502) of aerosol precursor composition and an aerosol delivery device (404, 504) having a refillable reservoir. The body (406, 506) defines a passageway (412, 512) between the ends for transfer of aerosol precursor composition from the container (402, 502) into the refillable reservoir. In one adapter (400), the container-side end (408) is configured to engage a valve (702) of the container (402) during refilling of the reservoir, and thereby defines separate and distinct filling and mating ports. In another adapter (500), the device-side end (510) includes a valve (702) configured to engage the aerosol delivery device (504) during refilling of the reservoir in which the airflow port of the aerosol delivery device (504) is closed by the valve (702) to prevent the aerosol precursor composition from passing through the airflow port.
