Summary: | The present invention is an in-vitro plant tissue culturing method for producing and enhancing secondary metabolite production from plant parts of Labisia pumila. The method involves manipulation of biochemical and physical environment of a culture medium, particularly the method comprising the steps of: inducing formation and propagation of a biomass comprising shoot, root or hairy root on the plant part in a culture medium comprising macroelement anions selected from nitrate ions (NO3-), hydrogen phosphate ions (H2PO4-), sulphate ions (SO42-) and/or chloride ions (Cl-); macroelement cations selected from potassium ions (K+), ammonium ions (NH4+), sodium ions (Na+), calcium ions (Ca2+) and/or magnesium ions (Mg2+); microelement anions borate ions (BO3-) and/or iodide ions (I-); and microelement cations iron ions (Fe2+), manganese ions (Mn2+), zinc ions (Zn2+), copper ions (Cu2+), molybdate ions (MoO42-) and/or ethylenediamine (EDTA4-) ions. |
