Summary: | The present invention relates generally to a co-current system for separation of acid gas from gas stream by using in-line gas-liquid contactor-separator. The system of the present invention is provided with at least one in-line gas- liquid contactor (2) to allow contacting of gas stream (1) with solvent stream (3) to form a contacting stream (4) at co-current flow, followed by using of at least one in-line gas-liquid separator (5) to separate the contacting stream (4) to form a first stream as treated gas stream (6) and a second stream (7) as used solvent with captured acid gas. The used solvent (7) can be recovered by cooling and then separating solidified material (13) from said used solvent (7) so that the recovered solvent can be circulated for subsequent usage in the acid gas separation process.
