Summary: | A LIQUID LEVEL CONTROL DEVICE ADAPTED TO BE LOCATED IN A VESSEL, THE DEVICE COMPRISING A FIRST FLOW CONTROLLER (21) COMPRISING A FIRST FLOAT (39) LOCATED IN A FIRST CHAMBER (53), THE FIRST CHAMBER (53) BEING OPEN AT ITS BOTTOM TO ALLOW WATER INGRESS AND EGRESS AND HAVING A FIRST VENT (32) TO ALLOW AGRESS OF AIR, AND A FIRST VALVE (33) ASSOCIATED WITH THE FIRST FLOAT (39) SUCH THAT, IN USE, WHEN THE FLOAT IS AT A DOWN POSITION THE LEVEL OF WATER IN THE CHAMBER IS AT OR BELOW A FIRST PREDETERMINED LEVEL (91), THE FIRST VALVE (33) WILL OPEN TO ALLOW WATER INTO THE VESSEL AND INTO THE FIRST CHAMBER (53), TO TEND TO RAISE THE FIRST THE FIRST FLOAT (39) AND TO DISPLACE AIR IN THE FIRST CHAMBER (53) VIA THE FIRST VENT (32). AND SUCH THAT, IN USE, WHEN THE FIRST FLOAT (39) IS AT AN UP POSITION WHEN THE LEVEL OF WATER IN THE FIRST CHAMBER (53) IS AT OR ABOVE A SECOND PREDETERMINED LEVEL (92), THE FIRST VALVE (33) WILL CLOSE TO PREVENT FURTHER WATER FLOW INTO THE VESSEL; A SECOND FLOW CONTROLLER (22) COMPRISING A SECOND FLOAT (69), AND A SECOND VALVE (63) ASSOCIATED WITH THE SECOND FLOAT (69) AND CONNECTED TO THE FIRST VENT (32) SUCH THAT, IN USE WHEN THE SECOND FLOAT (69) RISES, IN CONSEQUENCE OF THE FIRST VALVE (32) ALLOWING WATER INTO THE VESSEL, THE SECOND VALVE (63) WILL OPEN TO ALLOW AIR TO FLOW FROM THE FIRST CHAMBER (53) VIA THE FIRST VENT (32) AND THE SECOND VALVE (63) TO ESCAPE TO ATMOSPHERE, AND CONSTRUCTED AND ARRANGED SUCH THAT WHEN THE WATER LEVEL IN THE VESSEL DROPS TO A THIRD PREDETERMINED LEVEL (93) IN CONSEQUENCE OF WATER IN THE VESSEL BEING USED OR BEING REMOVED, THE SECOND FLOAT (69) WILL FALL TO A LEVEL TO CLOSE THE SECOND VALVE (63), BEFORE THE FIRST FLOAT (39) HAS FALLEN TO A LEVEL TO OPEN THE FIRST VALVE (33), TO THEREBY PREVENT AIR FLOW VIA THE FIRST VENT (32) INTO THE FIRST CHAMBER (53) TO ESTABLISH, AS THE WATER LEVEL IN THE VESSEL FALLS STILL FURTHER, A PARTIAL VACUUM IN THE FIRST CHAMBER (53) WHICH WILL MAINTAIN THE WATER LEVEL THEREIN AT A LEVEL SUCH THAT THE FIRST FLOAT (39) WILL NOT FALL TO A OPEN THE FIRST VALVE (33), AND A BREATHER (52) FOR THE FIRST CHAMBER (53) LOCATED SUCH THAT, IN USE, WHEN THE WATER LEVEL IN THE VESSEL FALLS TOBELOW A FOURTH PREDETERMINED LEVEL (94) IN CONSEQUENCE OF WATER IN THE VESSEL BEING USED OR A BEING REMOVED, TO ALLOW AIR TO ENTER INTO THE FIRST CHAMBER (53) TO OVERCOME THE PARTIAL VACUUM TO ALLOW WATER TO FLOW OUT OF THE FIRST CHAMBER (33) TO ALLOW THE FIRST FLOAT (39) TO FALL TO A LEVEL TO OPEN THE FIRST VALVE (33) TO COMMENCE AGAIN, IN USE, ALLOWING WATER INTO THE VESSEL.
