Summary:The present invention provides a circuit breaker assembly having a base, cover, and switch handle adapted to withstand an external force applied to a lever of the switch handle. During normal operation the handle rotates on small-diameter pivots in elongated bearing slots. When the lever is inadvertently struck, such as when the circuit breaker is dropped on the lever, the pivots slide in the elongated bearing slots. The force is borne by large-diameter hubs which come into contact with mating bearing surfaces. Thus, the pivots are not shorn off during such incidents, which would damage the circuit breaker. La presente invencion proporciona un conjunto disyuntor de circuito que tiene una base, una cubierta y una manija de interruptor adaptadas para soportar una fuerza extrema aplicada a una palanca de la manija de interruptor. Durante operacion normal, la manija gira en pivotes de diámetro en ranuras de apoyo alargadas. Cuando la palanca es golpeada en forma accidental, tal como cuando el disyuntor de circuito es dejado caer sobre la palanca, los pivotes deslizan en las ranuras de apoyo alargadas. La fuerza es cargada por mazas de diámetro grande que entran en contacto con superficies de apoyo pares. De esta manera, los pivotes no son cortados durante tales incidentes, lo que dañaría el disyuntor de circuito.
