Una junta de pivote pre-cargada tiene un asiento de bola roscado, que se enrosca dentro de un extremo abierto del alojamiento de junta, para ajustar la carga axial del vástago de bola y cosecuentes características de par de torsion. La posicion ajustada del asiento de bola se mantiene al oscilar el alojamiento de junta hacia adentro para acoplar una posicion hexagonal del asiento de bola que emplea para roscar el asiento dentro del alojamiento.
