Summary:Battery covers and methods for producing battery covers are described. One battery cover described herein includes a single sheet of material formed into a substantially rectangular box shape with an opening formed along one side, the rectangular box shape capable of being folded into a flattened shape for transportation and the material including a flexible laminate of at least one layer of synthetic fiber and a polymer film layer. The material has a thickness and other properties such that when the battery cover is unfolded, the material substantially maintains the rectangular box shape, and when the battery cover is folded into the flattened shape, the material maintains a spring force such that, unless restrained, the battery cover would unfold to the rectangular box shape. Se describen cubiertas para batería y métodos para fabricar cubiertas para batería. Una cubierta para batería descrita en el presente incluye una única lámina de material que a la que se da forma de caja sustancialmente rectangular con una apertura formada a lo largo de un lateral, pudiéndose plegar dicha forma de caja rectangular para obtener una forma plana para su transporte e incluyendo el material un laminado flexible de al menos una capa de fibra sintética y una capa de película polimérica. El material tiene un grosor y otras propiedades de modo que cuando la cubierta para batería se despliega, el material mantiene sustancialmente la forma de caja rectangular y cuando la cubierta para batería se pliega para adquirir la forma plana, el material mantiene una fuerza de resorte de modo que, a menos que se sujete, la cubierta para batería se desplegaría hasta adquirir la forma de caja rectangular.
