Summary:The invention relates to a detection apparatus for being placed on an area of investigation of an epidermis of a human or animal subject in order to detect at least nitric oxide dissolved in the sweat, said apparatus comprising: a structure (1) defining a microfluidic circuit for conducting a flow of sweat, the structure comprising an inlet port (4) allowing the sweat to pass from the epidermis, the microfluidic circuit comprising at least one microfluidic channel (9) in communication with the inlet port, at least one electrochemical sensor (10) comprising at least four electrodes arranged in series in a longitudinal direction of the microfluidic channel, the at least four electrodes comprising a reference electrode, at least two working electrodes and a counter electrode, the electrochemical sensor being configured to produce a signal representing a concentration of nitric oxide and further to perform depletion and/or to produce a signal representing a flow rate of the flow of sweat.
