The present invention provides a surface treatment agent for aluminum-containing metal materials that makes it possible to form a coating in which off-odors are suppressed and which has excellent corrosion resistance and drainage properties. The surface treatment agent for aluminum-containing metal materials comprises: a resin (A) having an ethylene structural unit and a hydroxyethylene structural unit; an ether compound (B) having an epoxy group and/or a hydroxyl group; and a metal compound (C), wherein the content of the ethylene structural unit in the resin (A) is 1-20 mol%. Se proporciona un agente de tratamiento superficial para materiales metálicos que contienen aluminio que es capaz de formar un recubrimiento excelente en propiedades de resistencia a la corrosión y drenaje con supresión de olor.
