Summary: | The present invention relates to a novel process for the synthesis of mono- and bis-nitrosylated propanediols, as well as novel compositions and pharmaceutical formulations comprising said compounds. The process proceeds by reacting a corresponding propanediol that is not nitrosylated with a source of nitrite, optionally in the presence of a suitable acid. Wherein, when the source of nitrite is an organic nitrite, reacting step is performed in a suitable organic solvent, and when the source of nitrite is an inorganic nitrite, the reacting step is performed in a bi-phasic solvent mixture comprising an aqueous phase and a non-aqueous phase. The invention also relates to methods of treating a condition wherein administration of nitric oxide (NO) has a beneficial effect by administering said compounds, compositions or formulations.
La presente invención se refiere a un nuevo proceso para la síntesis de propanodioles mono y bis-nitrosilados, así como nuevas composiciones y formulaciones farmacéuticas que comprenden dichos compuestos. El proceso avanza al hacer reaccionar un propanodiol correspondiente que no está nitrosilado con una fuente de nitrito, opcionalmente en presencia de un ácido adecuado. En donde, cuando la fuente de nitrito es un nitrito orgánico, la etapa de reacción se realiza en un solvente orgánico adecuado, y cuando la fuente de nitrito es un nitrito inorgánico, la etapa de reacción se realiza en una mezcla de solventes bifásica que comprende una fase acuosa y una fase no acuosa La invención también se refiere a métodos para tratar una afección en donde la administración de óxido nítrico (NO) tiene un efecto beneficioso al administrar dichos compuestos, composiciones o formulaciones. |
