Summary:The invention relates to methods of increasing genetic merit of swine using sex sorted semen by establishing a plurality of mating subtypes for a line of swine, and determining a percentage of progeny that are male for each of the mating subtypes, or a percentage of progeny that are female for each of the mating subtypes, that would result, relative to a control, in an increase in genetic merit in the line. La invención se refiere a métodos para aumentar el mérito genético en porcinos utilizando semen sexado al establecer una pluralidad de subtipos de apareamiento para una línea porcina y determinar un porcentaje de progenie que son machos para cada uno de los subtipos de apareamiento, o un porcentaje de progenie que son hembras para cada uno de los subtipos de apareamiento, que resultaría, con respecto al control, en un aumento del mérito genético en la línea.
