Summary:The invention relates to inactivated mycobacteria for oral use in the prevention of tuberculosis, which are administered using a multi-dose regimen and with a reduced time interval between doses, such as to induce a tolerance response to infection by the tubercle bacillus. The inactivated bacteria can be used with the aforementioned regimen to control the progression of the infection from a latent state to active tuberculosis.
