Summary:The present invention refers to a process for obtaining reduced graphene immersed into a polymeric matrix obtained from graphite oxide during the preparation of a hybrid nanocomposite by means ultrasound-assisted melt mixing. The mixing temperature of the polymer may produce the thermo-reduction of the graphite and the exfoliation thereof in reduced graphene sheets, while the application of ultrasound allows the polymer chains to be hydrated over said sheets. The process results in a polymeric nanocomposite with an immersed graphene nanohybrid, which presents excellent properties. On the other hand, the process is performed in a single step for avoiding the disadvantages generated by the handle and control of nanoparticles in industrial processes.
