Summary:The present invention refers to the participation of 5-HT2 serotonergic receptor with an increased insulin sensibility, mainly caused by the peripheral capture of glucose. The present invention is intended to use 5-HT2 receptor antagonist, such as indorrenate (hypertensive agent acting as central 5-HT1A receptor agonist) in pharmaceutical compositions for improving the insulin sensitivity, upon acting as 5-HT2 agonist in the periphery.
