Summary:The present invention refers to a method for detecting and typifying 20 types of HPV, mainly to a method by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in multiplex format. The novel design for diagnosing HPV by multiplex PCR, allows, in a reduced number of reactions, to identify the presence and the type of HVP, being only based on their amplification pattern. The identity of the amplified bands is deduced by the localization thereof in the reaction tubes and by the size of the bands amplified by agarose gel electrophoresis. In addition, the bands identity may be confirmed by means of the pattern produced by restriction enzymes digestion.
