The aldehyde guar is useful as an effective gelling agent for oilfield servicing fluids such as hydraulic fracturing fluids and stimulation fluids. Una composición fluida de servicio para campos petrolíferos contiene un guar de aldehído producido por oxidación enzimática de un guar recto, no derivado o de un derivado de guar. La enzima usada para oxidar el guar a guar de aldehído es oxidasa de galactosa, que se puede combinar con catalasa o catalasa y peroxidasa. El guar de aldehído es útil como un agente de gelificación efectivo para fluidos de servicio de campos petrolíferos tales como fluidos hidráulicos de fracturación y fluidos de estimulación.
