A process to produce a crosslinker includes incorporating a pendent group comprising a covalently bonded phosphorous atom. Reticulantes que tienen un átomo de fósforo enlazado en forma covalente, el átomo de fósforo teniendo por lo menos un átomo de oxígeno enlazado en forma covalente. Los reticulantes pueden usarse con resinas tales como resinas de epoxi, acrílico, poliuretano, policarbonato, polisiloxano, polivinilo, poliéster, aminoplástico y poliéster.
