In an absorbent structure for an absorbent article, a non-woven absorbent core extends from one longitudinal end region of the absorbent structure through a central region thereof to an opposite longitudinal end region of the absorbent structure. The absorbent core has a first face, a second face opposite the first face, and laterally opposite side edges. A liquid permeable wrapsheet is wrapped about the first face, the laterally opposite side edges and at least a portion of the second face of the absorbent core to define a wrapped configuration of the wrapsheet. The wrapsheet is constructed of a non-woven material and is secured in its wrapped configuration about the absorbent core at least one securement region having a length substantially less than the length of the absorbent structure. En una estructura absorbente para un articulo absorbente, un nucleo absorbente no tejido se extiende desde una region de extremo longitudinal de la estructura absorbente a traves de una region central de la misma a una region de extremo longitudinal opuesta de la estructura absorbente. El nucleo absorbente tiene una primera cara, una segunda cara opuesta a la primera cara y las orillas laterales opuestas lateralmente. Una hoja de envoltura permeable al liquido esta envuelta alrededor de la primera cara, las orillas laterales opuestas lateralmente y por 10 menos una parte de la segunda cara del nucleo absorbente para definir una configuracion envuelta de la hoja de envoltura. La hoja de envoltura esta construida de un material no tejido y esta asegurada en su configuracion envuelta alrededor del nucleo absorbente por lo menos una region de aseguramiento teniendo una longitud esencialmente menor que la longitud de la estructura absorbente.
