Summary:Supported catalyst and process for its manufacture. The supported catalyst, useful especially in the treatment of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, comprises a porous support on which catalytically active elements are deposited, and more particularly cerium in combination with other elements. The cerium is deposited according to the invention solely on a peripheral crown ring of specified width of the support by impregnation with a colloidal solution of a cerium compound.
