Summary:Provision is made of a TV camera (40), an optical system, a plurality of optical path systems constituted by mirrors (22), (23), (26), and shutters (24), (27) for shutting off the light. The images of the subject on the optical path systems are alternatingly selected in synchronism with the field scanning of the TV camera (40) and are permitted to be incident upon the TV camera (40) to obtain a three-dimensional image. The imaging element (Fig. 2) used for the TV camera (40) has photo-electric conversion elements (42) arranged two-dimensionally and a corresponding vertically transmitting means (43). The signal charges stored in the photo-electric conversion elements (42) arranged two-dimensionally are simultaneously transmitted to the vertically transmitting means (43). The image of the subject incident upon the TV camera (40) is nearly in agreement with the timing at which the signal charges are transmitted from the photo-electric conversion elements (42) to the vertically transmitting means (43).
