Summary: | This invention relates to a medical instrument having a cylindrical member and a member which slides while keeping a close contact with the inner wall of the cylindrical member, wherein a lubricating film (7) which has durability and is not easily peeled off is formed on a thermoplastic elastomer layer of at least that portion of the sliding member (5) which comes into contact with the cylindrical inner wall by low-temperature plasma polymerization of a thermoplastic synthetic resin having a low kinetic frictional coefficient in a monomer atmosphere so that the sliding member can be fitted smoothly into the cylindrical member and can slide smoothly inside the cylindrical member. The invention also relates to a method of production of such a medical instrument. |
