Summary:A vehicle internal combustion engine air cleaning device comprising a housing having a cylindrical portion, a bottom wall and a hood surmounting the cylindrical portion which has a leading wall, a downwardly curved top wall, a back wall and side walls which converge is towards the back wall, an inlet in the leading wall containing a louvred element having a plurality of angled louvres arranged so that air entering the hood in a direction substantially normal to the leading wall has imparted to it an initial circular movement in a plane parallel to the bottom wall and perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the louvres, the housing containing a vane assembly downstream of the inlet.
