Summary:Furyloxazolyl acetic acid derivatives of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are prepared. In (I), R1 is C1-6 alkyl, C5-6 cycloalkyl or phenyl opt. substd. by C1-2 alkyl, C1-2 alkoxy or halo; R2 is H or C1-12 alkyl. (I) and their salts are prepd. by the dehydrative cyclization of 3-furoyl-3(NHCOR1)- propionate esters, opt. followed by hydrolysis to free acid. (I) have hypolipidaemic and thrombocyte-aggregation inhibiting activities.
