Summary:A solid-phase bonded silica prod. for a solid-phase extraction is produced by reacting silica with carboalkoxyalkyl silane of formula (I). In (I), R is C1-3 alkyl, A is C2-4 alkylene; R1, R2 and R3 are each halogen, C1-6 alkoxy; C2-5 alkoxy alkoxy and/or C1-3 alkyl; at least one of R1, R2 and R3 is not alkyl. The silica reactant is a particulate silica gel with average particle dia. of 3-70 microns and average pore size of 50-1000 Angstroms, or a particulate controlled pore glass with an average particle dia. of 37-177 microns and average pore size of 50-1000 Anstroms.
