Summary: | The adsorbent includes at least 50 wt.% of faujasite. Faujasite is prepd. by (i) ion exchanging an adsorbent contg. faujasite for exchanging polyvalent ion and (ii) thermal activation of polyvalent ion exchanged adsorbent to eliminate essentially zoolitic water. The thermal activation process comprises (a) applying pressure (0.1-10 atm) upon ion exchanged adsorbent contg. Ca 30 wt.% of water, (b) maintaining sufficiently mol. wt. velosity (0.5-100 kg.mol/m2hr) with remaining time (not to exceed ca. 2.5 mins) of unreactive purified gas and (c) maintaining temp. at 300-650 deg.C for 12hrs (ramp=0.1-40 deg.C/min). |
