Summary:A calcinating plant comprises two preheating units, a gas carrying pipe (41) and powdered material flow paths. The first preheating unit(I) consists of a calcinating kiln (5) and a series of preheaters (11 - 15) for heating powdered material with exhaust gas from the kiln. The second preheating unit (II) consists of another series of preheaters (21 - 25) for heating with exhaust gas from a rotary kiln (1). Calcination is achieved up to 100% with a low percentage of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas.
