Thus, 0.81g triethylamine in 5mL acetone was added into 20mL acetone soln. contg. 2.31g 3-(4-bromophenoxy)-4-fluoro-α-cyanobenzyl bromide and 2.66g dl-trans-2,2-dimethyl-3- ! (1,2-dibromo-2,2-dichloroethyl)cyclopropane carboxylic acid at 15-20 C with stirring and refluxed for 2 hrs. with heating. After the resulting mixt. was cooled, triethylamine hydrobromide was removed from the mixt. and concd. to give 3.60g 3-(4-bromophenoxy) ! -4-fluoro-α-cyanobenzyl-dl-trans-2,2-dimethyl-3-(1,2-dibromo -2,2-dichloroethyl) ! cyanopropane carboxylate.
