Summary:Improved O2 indicator is prepd. from dye (chemical compounds (I) and (II)) where: -Y+is -O+=, -S+= or -N+-Z (Z = H2, C1-4 alkyl or C6-7 allyl gp.); R1-R6 is H2, C1-4 alkyl or nitro radicals; R7-R10 is H2 or C1-4 alkyl gp.; X is halogen; and M is alkali metal. The product is obtained from mixing dye, thickening agent (III), and solvents (IV). III is sodium-carboxyl-methyl-cellulose, hydroxy-ethyl-cellulose, methyl-cellulose, polyvinylalcohol, arabia gum powder, dextrin, or casein. The required amount of III is 0.05-10 wt.%. IV is H2O alcohol, or their mixture. The addition of surfactants (0.05-5 wt.%) makes the product stable and non-agglomerating.
