Summary:Ginseng extracts were adjusted to pH 7.0-7.4 in 4-6 times water and dewaxed with CHCl3 or C6H6 and treated with active carbon to eliminate nonsoluble, phenolic material and pigment, and then concentrated. The obtained powder was dissolved in EtOH to eliminate the precipitates. Pure saponins were separated from saponin-dissolved EtOH soln. by using G-75 or G-50 resin.
