Summary: | A sewing machine has two stepping drive motors(36,37) connected to the work clamp by a linkage. The operation of the motors is linked to the reciprocating needle in a timed manner. A programmed control signal is provided for the motors to give signals based on digitised co-ordinate axis valves for each stitch, but modified to compensate for the non-linearily caused by the fixed relationship of the motors and their linkage to the work clamp. The design reduces restrictions on the stitching density & allows stitching patterns to be charged quickly with little loss of prodn. charge by plugging a new program into the control circuit. |
