Provided is a method and apparatus for providing services in a metaverse environment, wherein the method for providing services in a metaverse environment comprises the steps of: implementing a virtual area in a metaverse space, corresponding to a predetermined area in a real space; providing an event for at least one object implemented in the virtual area, based on event information provided in the predetermined area of the real space; providing a user interface (UI) for purchasing products of a shopping mall object based on product information obtained from a commerce server, when a user avatar's entry into the shopping mall object implemented in the virtual area is confirmed; performing a purchase process of the product according to a purchase input, when the purchase input for the product is received through the user interface; and transmitting product information, payment information, and order information for the purchased product to the commerce server. 메타버스 환경에서 서비스를 제공하는 방법에 있어서, 현실 공간 상의 소정의 지역에 대응하는 메타버스 공간 상의 가상 지역을 구현하는 단계, 현실 공간 상의 소정의 지역에서 제공되는 이벤트 정보에 기초하여, 가상 지역 내에 구현된 객체들 중 적어도 하나의 객체에서 이벤트를 제공하는 단계, 가상 지역 내에 구현된 쇼핑몰 객체에 대한 사용자 아바타의 입장이 확인되면, 커머스 서버로부터 획득된 상품 정보에 기초하여 쇼핑몰 객체의 상품을 구입하기 위한 사용자 인터페이스(user interface; UI)를 제공하는 단계, 사용자 인터페이스를 통한 상품의 구매 입력이 수신되는 경우, 구매 입력에 따른 상품의 구매 처리를 수행하는 단계 및 구매 처리된 상품에 대한 상품정보, 결제정보 및 주문정보를 커머스 서버로 전송하는 단계를 포함하는 메타버스 환경에서 서비스를 제공하는 방법 및 장치를 제공한다.
