The control method for an electronic device for generating a map of a space comprises the steps of: while the electronic device recognizes that a mobile device having the electronic device mounted thereon travels through a space, receiving, from the mobile device, information regarding the distance traveled, and acquiring direction information of the electronic device via at least one sensor; acquiring a first map of the space on the basis of the information regarding the distance traveled and the direction information; while the electronic device recognizes that the mobile device having the electronic device mounted thereon travels through the space, receiving wireless signals from a plurality of APs located within the space; and acquiring a second map of the space on the basis of the information regarding the distance traveled, the direction information, and the received wireless signals.
