본 발명은, 기울여서 화상을 시인하는 경우도 표시 성능의 유지가 가능한 표시 장치를 제공하는 것을 과제로 한다. 일 실시형태에 따른 표시 장치는, 광반사성 화상 표시층과, 편광자, λ/2부 및 λ/4부를 갖는 타원 편광판을 구비하고, λ/2부는, 제1 지상자 요소, 제2 지상자 요소, 제2 지상자 요소 및 제1 지상자 요소가 적층된 적층체이며, 화상 표시층의 두께 방향에 대한 경사각 45°의 투영면에서의 파장 550 nm에서의 면내 리타데이션을 ReM45로 하고, λ/4부의 파장 550 nm에서의 면내 리타데이션을 ReoQ로 하고, 화상 표시층의 ρ 계수(ρ)를 식 (A)로 나타낸 경우, λ/4부의 Nz 계수(Nz)와 ρ 계수(ρ)는 식 (B)에 나타낸 관계를 충족시킨다. ρ=ReM45/ReoQ···(A) 4.5ρ-0.160<Nz<4.5ρ+0.955···(B) [Problem] To provide a display device capable of maintaining display performance even when an image is visually recognized in an inclined state.
