The present invention is an antibacterial composition comprising an alkyl phenolic compound, and more specifically, the antibacterial composition of the present invention has superior antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and yeast compared to conventional preservatives, and can therefore be used in pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, and the like, and can be used alone or mixed with other substances to be useful in related industries. In addition, the alkyl phenolic compounds used in the present invention are mostly obtained from plant-derived lignin and are currently registered as food additives, so they are expected to easily replace conventional preservatives. 본 발명은 알킬 페놀계 화합물을 포함하는 항균용 조성물로서, 보다 구체적으로는 본 발명의 항균용 조성물은 그람 양성균, 그람 음성균 및 효모에 대해 기존 보존제에 비해 우수한 항균 활성을 가지므로 의약품, 식품, 화장품 등에 사용할 수 있는 바, 이를 단독 또는 다른 물질과 혼합하여 관련 산업에 유용하게 이용할 수 있다. 또한, 본 발명에서 사용한 알킬 페놀계 화합물은 대부분 식물유래 리그닌에서 얻을 수 있으며 현재 식품 첨가물로 등록되어 있어 기존의 보존제를 쉽게 대체할 수 있으리라 기대된다.
