Summary:The present invention relates to a soil sponge on which plants are planted for cultivating plants in hydroponic cultivation and a manufacturing method thereof. More specifically, the soil sponge comprises at least one polymer compound selected from a group consisting of polyacrylic acid, sodium alginate, and carboxymethyl cellulose and at least one humic material source selected from soil organic matter, peat moss, and coco peat. The soil sponge is manufactured by forming a primary crosslink in the mixture of the polymer compound and the humic material source and performing secondary crosslinking by irradiating radiation. According to the present invention, the soil sponge has excellent water resistance, thereby being used for a long period of time and being suitable for seed germination or plant growth by hydroponic cultivation. In addition, the soil sponge is biodegradable, thereby being easily decomposed in nature when discarded. Accordingly, the soil sponge can be easily discarded at low cost by landfill and the like instead of incineration and has little risk of causing environmental pollution. 본 발명은 수경재배에서 식물을 재배하기 위해 식물이 식재되는 소일스폰지 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 본 발명에 따른 수경 재배용 소일스폰지는 폴리아크릴산, 소듐알지네이트, 카르복시메틸 셀룰로오스로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 적어도 1 이상의 고분자화합물; 토양유기물, 피트모스, 코코피트 가운데 선택되는 적어도 1 이상의 휴믹물질 공급원; 상기 고분자화합물과 휴믹물질 공급원의 혼합물에 1차 가교를 형성하고, 방사선을 조사하여 2차 가교하여 제조된다. 본 발명에 따른 수경 재배용 소일스폰지는 내수성이 우수하여 장기간 사용할 수 있고 수경재배에 의한 종자의 발아나 식물 생장에 매우 적합하다. 또한, 본 발명에 따른 수경 재배용 소일스폰지는 생분해성으로 폐기시 자연 상태에서 쉽게 분해된다. 따라서, 본 발명에 따른 수경 재배용 소일스폰지는 소각이 아닌 매립 등에 의해 저비용으로 쉽게 폐기될 수 있고, 환경 오염을 유발할 염려가 적다.
