The electronic device comprises: a memory for storing a home appliance information corresponding to each of a plurality of households and power use amount information corresponding to each of the plurality of households; and a processor connected to the memory to control the electronic device. The processor may acquire home appliance information corresponding to a new household when receiving a service request from the new household, update the home appliance information corresponding to the new household based on at least one appliance included in the acquired home appliance information, identify at least one household among the plurality of households based on the updated home appliance information, and acquire prediction power use amount information of the new household based on power use amount information corresponding to the identified at least one household.
