Summary:A monitoring device according to an embodiment disclosed in the present document may comprise: an image acquisition part that acquires an image of at least one process processing device related to manufacturing of a battery cell; an analysis part that inputs the acquired image into an artificial intelligence model for determining a welding state of a battery cell and generates a first determination result that determines whether the battery cell is defective; and a determination part that determines whether the battery cell is defective based on the first determination result. Thus, the present invention can provide the monitoring device and the operation method thereof that can detect defective battery cells by accurately analyzing a welding status of battery cells. 본 문서에 개시된 일 실시예에 따른 모니터링 장치는 배터리 셀의 제조와 관련된 적어도 하나의 공정 처리 장치를 촬영한 이미지를 획득하는 이미지 획득부; 상기 획득된 이미지를 배터리 셀의 용접 상태를 판단하기 위한 인공 지능 모델에 입력하여 상기 배터리 셀의 불량 여부를 판단한 제1 판단 결과를 생성하는 분석부; 및 상기 제1 판단 결과에 기초하여 상기 배터리 셀의 불량 여부를 판단하는 판정부를 포함할 수 있다.
