The present invention relates to a system for displaying a word relation network for a patent document, which extracts a symbol description for a drawing symbol, or a component term in a claim as words from a drawing of the patent document and displays a word relation network indicating a relationship between the words while displaying the word relation network on a screen with the drawing or claim, comprising: a screen configuration unit dividing an output screen into a plurality of windows; a symbol description extraction unit detecting drawing symbols from drawings of the patent document and extracting symbol descriptions of the detected drawing symbols; a relation calculation unit calculating a relation between the symbol descriptions for each symbol description of the drawings displayed on the output screen, according to a frequency of simultaneous occurrence of at least two symbol descriptions in a sentence of content of the patent document; and a relationship network display unit displaying the relationship between the symbol descriptions of the drawings as a hierarchical relationship network, while connecting a node of a symbol description related to a symbol description at each particular node as a low-rank node of the particular node. According to the system, the word relationship network of the symbol descriptions of the drawing symbols or the component terms of the claims are displayed together on the screen, to easily recognize the relationship between the symbol descriptions of the symbols appearing in the drawing or the component terms of the claims. 특허 문서의 도면에서 도면 부호에 대한 부호 설명, 또는 청구범위에서 구성요소 용어를, 워드로서 추출하여 이들 워드 간의 관계를 나타내는 워드 관계망을 표시하되, 워드 관계망을 도면 또는 청구범위와 함께 화면 상에 표시하는, 특허 문서에 대한 워드 관계망 표시 시스템에 관한 것으로서, 출력 화면을 다수의 창으로 분할하는 화면 구성부; 상기 특허문서의 도면에서 도면부호를 검출하고, 검출된 도면 부호에 대한 부호 설명을 추출하는 부호설명 추출부; 상기 출력 화면에 표시된 도면의 각 부호설명에 대하여, 특허문서 내용의 문장에서 적어도 2개의 부호 설명이 동시에 나타나는 빈도에 따라, 해당 부호 설명 간의 관계도를 산출하는 관계도 산출부; 및, 해당 도면의 부호 설명들 간의 관계도를 계층 구조의 관계망으로 표시하되, 각 특정 노드의 부호 설명과 관계가 있는 부호설명의 노드를 해당 특정 노드의 하위 노드로 연결하여 표시하는, 관계망 표시부를 포함하는 구성을 마련한다. 상기와 같은 시스템에 의하면, 도면의 도면 부호의 부호 설명 또는 청구범위의 구성요소 용어에 대한 워드 관계망을 화면 상에 함께 표시함으로써, 도면에 나타나는 부호들의 부호 설명 또는 청구범위의 구성요소 용어들 간의 관계를 손쉽게 파악할 수 있다.
