A battery cell according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an electrode assembly; a housing having an open unit formed on one side and a closed unit formed on the other side and configured to accommodate the electrode assembly through the open unit; and an insulator disposed on one side of the electrode assembly, wherein the insulator includes: a cover unit configured to cover one side of the electrode assembly facing the open unit; and a leg unit interposed between the outer peripheral surface of the electrode assembly and the inner surface of the housing and including a bent unit formed on at least a part. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 배터리 셀은, 전극 조립체; 일 측에 형성되는 개방부 및 타 측에 형성되는 폐쇄부를 구비하며 상기 개방부를 통해 상기 전극 조립체를 수용하도록 구성되는 하우징; 및 상기 전극 조립체의 일 면 상에 배치되는 인슐레이터; 를 포함하며, 상기 인슐레이터는, 상기 개방부를 향하는 상기 전극 조립체의 일 면을 커버하도록 구성되는 커버부; 및 상기 전극 조립체의 외주면과 상기 하우징의 내측면 사이에 개재되고 적어도 일부에 형성되는 절곡부를 구비하는 레그부; 를 포함한다.
