The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for establishing end-to-end (E2E) security in a wireless communication system, which provides E2E protection when two terminals communicate with each other by using a relay. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method of a first terminal in a wireless communication system comprises: a process of transmitting a first request message for information required for establishing security between terminals to a first entity; a process of receiving a first response message containing information required for establishing security between the terminals from the first entity in response to the first request message; a process of generating security information for the first terminal on the basis of the response message; a process of transmitting a second request message containing security information about the first terminal to a relay terminal; a process of performing security establishment with the relay terminal; a process of receiving a second response message containing security information about a second terminal from the relay terminal in response to the second request message; and a process of generating an E2E session key between the terminals on the basis of the received security information about the second terminal. 본 개시의 일 실시예에 따른 무선 통신 시스템에서 제1 단말의 방법은 제1 엔티티로 단말간 보안 형성에 필요한 정보에 대한 제1 요청 메시지를 송신하는 과정과, 상기 제1 엔티티로부터 제1 요청메시지에 대한 응답으로 상기 단말간 보안 형성에 필요한 정보를 포함하는 제1 응답 메시지를 수신하는 과정과, 상기 응답메시지를 기반으로 상기 제1 단말에 대한 보안 정보를 생성하는 과정과, 릴레이 단말로 상기 제1 단말에 대한 보안 정보를 포함하는 제2 요청 메시지를 송신하는 과정과, 상기 릴레이 단말과 보안 형성을 수행하는 과정과, 상기 릴레이 단말로부터 상기 제2 요청메시지에 대한 응답으로 제2 단말에 대한 보안 정보를 포함하는 제2 응답 메시지를 수신하는 과정과, 상기 수신한 제2 단말에 대한 보안 정보를 기반으로 단말간 종단 세션 키 (end-to-end session key: E2E session key)를 생성하는 과정을 포함한다.
