Summary:The present invention relates to a positive electrode active material and a method for manufacturing the same, and more specifically, to a positive electrode active material and a method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material under aqueous conditions, wherein niobium is doped in a primary particle and penetration of lithium niobate into a secondary particle is prevented, so that surface resistance is reduced, and furthermore, strain caused by asymmetric volume expansion of the positive electrode active material during charging/discharging of a lithium secondary battery using the positive electrode active material can be reduced. 본 발명은 양극 활물질 및 이의 제조 방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 구체적으로, 1차 입자 내 니오븀이 도핑되며, 2차 입자의 내부로 니오브산 리튬의 침투가 방지됨에 따라 표면 저항을 줄이고, 나아가 나아가 상기 양극 활물질을 사용한 리튬 이차전지의 충/방전시 상기 양극 활물질의 비대칭적인 부피 팽창에 기인한 스트레인을 감소시키는 것이 가능한 양극 활물질과 수계 조건 하에서 상기 양극 활물질을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다.
