The present invention provides a method for displaying an advertisement within a charger for a portable terminal where an advertisement is displayed. The portable terminal comprises: a gravity sensor outputting a sensor value by determining a charger location; a display displaying an advertisement video or image; and a multimedia IC (65) controlling charging. The method comprises the steps of: allowing the charger for a portable terminal to actuate when the power of the charger is on; allowing the multimedia IC (65) to determine whether the display is disposed on the upper side based on a sensor value which the gravity sensor (64) has sensed; allowing the multimedia IC (65) to output advertisement data and the display (61) to display the advertisement video or image when the display is disposed on the upper side; and not allowing the multimedia IC (65) to output the advertisement data and the display (61) to display the advertisement video or image when the display is not disposed on the upper side. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a portable charger capable of performing wired and wireless charging and to display various advertisement content appropriate for a place. Also, specifically, it is possible to prevent the problem of displaying a meaningless advertisement by not allowing an advertisement to be displayed when a terminal is flipped. 본 발명은, 충전기 위치를 판단하여 센서 값을 출력하는 중력 센서, 광고 영상 혹은 이미지를 표시하는 디스플레이, 충전을 제어하는 멀티미디어 IC(65)가 구비된 광고가 표시되는 휴대 단말기용 충전기 내에서 광고를 표시하는 방법에 있어서, 충전기 전원이 on 상태가 되면, 휴대 단말기용 충전기가 작동하는 단계, 중력 센서(64)가 감지한 센서 값을 근거로 멀티미디어 IC(65)가 디스플레이가 상단에 위치하는 가를 판단하는 단계, 디스플레이가 상단에 위치하면 멀티미디어 IC(65)는 광고 데이터를 출력하고, 디스플레이(61)는 광고 영상 혹은 이미지를 표시하는 단계, 디스플레이가 상단에 위치하지 않으면, 멀티미디어 IC(65)는 광고 데이터를 출력하지 않게 되고, 디스플레이(61)에는 광고 영상 혹은 이미지를 표시하지 않는 단계, 를 포함하므로서 유무선 충전이 가능한 휴대용 충전기를 제공할 수 있고, 다양한 광고 콘텐츠를 장소에 맞게 광고를 표시할 수도 있을 뿐 아니라, 특히 단말기가 뒤집혀질 경우에는 광고가 표시되지 않도록 하여 의미 없는 광고가 표시되는 문제점을 방지하게 된다.
