Summary: | The present invention relates to a negative electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same. The negative electrode contains a current collector and a negative electrode active material layer placed on the current collector and containing a negative electrode active material and a conductive material. The negative active material contains a silicon-based active material, and the conductive material contains a carbon nanotube. In the negative electrode active material layer, the negative electrode active material and the conductive material are contained to satisfy formula 1 and formula 2 below.
